Note about indicator 4a: For SPP/APR reporting in February 2024, use SY202-2022 data to determine which schools have significant discrepancy in the rate of suspending students with disabilities > 10 days as compared to the rate of suspending students without disabilities > 10 days.
The DPA should (have) notify schools during school year 2022-2023 that they have this discrepancy and require the schools to revise its policies, procedures, and practices relating to the development and implementation of IEPs, the use of positive behavioral interventions and supports, and procedural safeguards, to ensure that such policies, procedures, and practices comply with applicable requirements.
Consider entering tasks on the calendar to complete this requirement. For example, after pulling the school year discipline data for SY2022-2023, while preparing it for EDPass submission in February 2024, calculate the data for the FFY23 APR Submission (in February 2025) and inform schools of their discrepancy and establish a process for reviewing their policies, practices and procedures to ensure compliance.
